This school stimulates the imaginations of students while providing a safe and enjoyable place to learn. Cuningham Group’s design includes details such as bright colors, 18" high window sills so even the smallest child can see out, and story-time places in the courtyard and media center.
The L-shaped arrangement of the three buildings allows much of the site to remain open for play, locates the school’s entry on the “quietest” street to emphasize safety, and creates a sense of security by allowing staff to view the entire play area.
The strong exterior wall of the main building integrates large windows allowing natural daylight into the clasrooms. The library’s glass cube serves as the school’s signature icon and represents a commitment to reading, learning and the openness that exists in the minds of children.
