Cuningham Group prepared the latest land use and development strategies for the Midtown Greenway Corridor. Focused on the area north and south of the corridor and organized by traditional patterns of streets and blocks, the recently adopted study took a form-based approach to design and planning of future development.
The study prepared a thorough analysis of existing building types to document precedents, development activity, and market-related building types, as well as to address the changing dynamics of the marketplace. Recommendations responded to the Greenway as a planned future transit corridor by identifying development districts as transit-oriented, urban-oriented, or neighbor-oriented. The development districts then guide development intensity, use and urban design per a set of form-based building type graphic exhibits.
The team worked with a very active steering committee that oversaw community workshops and meetings in two locations in the corridor at each project milestone.
