Intended as a place for spiritual retreats of all denominations, House of Prayer provides a comfortable environment for individual or guided meditative retreats.
Cuningham Group designed the facade to be restrained and forthright on the approach side and open and natural on the side facing the forest. A stone wall separates the private meditative sections of the center from the more social areas.
Custom-designed windows reflect a contemporary flavor while traditional elements are found throughout the building. Master planning the project also required sensitivity to the heavily wooded site. There was minimal disruption to the surrounding environment and natural materials were used as much as possible during construction.
