The dramatic expansion at Isleta Casino & Resort includes 201 hotel rooms and suites boasting luxury amenities. The rich cultural history of the Pueblo of Isleta inspired the design, incorporating three main metaphors prevalent throughout: adobe, feathers, and pottery. The unforgettable architectural experiences include a soaring seven-story, 90-foot glass hotel atrium with feather-like sunscreens; an outdoor “Spa Jar” in the shape of a pottery vase; and a uniquely ovular meeting room that also references pottery and serves as a terminus to the convention center’s striking, barrel-vaulted pre-function space. This convention center space was designed to appear as if carved from the earth with skylights reminiscent of historical adobe shelters. In addition, each hotel room has an artistic flare with the placement of pottery created by tribal artisans. Color palettes throughout the new facility are drawn from the deep blue of the sky and the rich reds, ocher and tans of the native soil and landforms of the built environment.
