Housing, Town Center, Retail
Located in the heart of Richfield and at the edge of Richfield Lake, Lyndale Gardens redevelops a vacant garden center and adjacent multi-tenant building into a community town center. Adaptive reuse of the old Garden Center along with major improvements to the surrounding property creates a retail hub. In this way, Lyndale Gardens acts as a community amenity that anchors additional mixed-use developments, both within and adjacent to the property.
The once blighted property serves as a gateway to the park and trail system and provides a variety of public park amenities along the lake front, including a special events space and skating rink. Among the open spaces’ many possible uses are an amphitheater, farmers market, urban agriculture gardens, a cooking terrace, public art, and children’s play area.
