April 6-9, 2014
The 29th Annual Computers in Libraries Conference is the most comprehensive North American conference and exhibition on all aspects of library and information delivery technology.
Cuningham Group Architect, Jonathan Strand, AIA, is part of the interactive pre-conference workshop, “Design My Library Space,” being led by Brian Pichman, Co-Founder, Evolve Project. This interactive workshop will share what libraries have done to renovate their spaces, and participants are expected to share their experiences. It will discuss the reasons to renovate and change; the different innovative methods to do such things; the statistics and facts about why and how changing and renovating spaces, including forward-facing books shelves, remapping layouts/moving furniture, the need for sitting, and the need for fab labs or hacker spaces, can improve the collection. The workshop will include brainstorming ways to improve and change library structures, hopefully all at low costs!
