Replacement Hospital, Emergency Department, Outpatient Facility
Our team was challenged with balancing the needs of the hospital against rising construction costs, all the while maintaining a high level of quality. Our unique design and delivery solution has saved the 111,000-square-foot facility over $75 per square foot in construction costs. The replacement hospital features both a main hospital and a supporting outpatient center, allowing for future renovation and expansion. The unique design features comprise two nearly adjacent buildings, matching in appearance and character, standing four inches apart but appear seamless to the eye.
By separating the main hospital/acute care areas from the outpatient facility/non-acute care areas, the portions of the facility that required higher construction costs were consolidated and built separately from those that were less costly to construct. Construction began on the outpatient center while the main hospital was under review, which saved the hospital both time and money.
